Setting up your VPN under Mac OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Setting up vpn access over L2TP under Mac OSX 10.6 is quick and easy. The following instructions will take you step by step in setting up your account.
NOTE: These settings are the same for Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopard)
1. Open system preferences and click onto 'Network'.
2. Click the '+' button on the network connections pane.
3. From the drop down menu select 'VPN' followed by 'L2TP' then click 'Create'.
4. Enter the VPNUK server that was issued to you in the welcome email into the 'Server Address' field and the account username in the 'Account Name' field then click the 'Authentication Settings' button.
5. Enter your 'Password' and the Shared Secret '69000903' then click 'OK'.
6. Click 'Apply'.
7. Click the 'Advanced' button.
8. Tick 'send all traffic over VPN connection', press 'OK'.
9. Click 'Apply'.
10. Leave the 'Show VPN status in menu bar' box ticked and press 'Connect'.
11. Finished! You can Connect/Disconnect to the server from the menu bar.

L2TP SETUP
Setting up your VPN under Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopard)
Setting up vpn access over L2TP under Mac OSX 10.5 is quick and easy. The following instructions will take you step by step in setting up your account.
1. First go into system preferences then 'Network'.
2. In the window listing your connections Click the '+ button'.
3. In the pop up set the following Interface to 'VPN', VPN Type to 'L2TP over IPSec' and Service Name to anything you want, for example VPN UK, click the Create button.
4. Leave Configuration set to 'Default', enter the 'Server IP Address' that was sent to you in the welcome email. For account name enter your Username.
5. Click the 'Authentication' Settings button.
6. For User Authentication enter 'your password'.
For Machine Authentication enter as shared secret '69000903', click ok.
7. Tick the Show VPN status in menu bar box if it not already done and click 'Apply'.
8. Click the 'Advanced' button.
9. Under options, tick the 'Send all traffic over VPN connection button', click ok.
10. Click 'Apply' and close system preferences.
Your VPN connection you have just set up will now be available in the menu bar, click 'Connect' to use.

Setting up your VPN under Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger)
Setting up vpn access over L2TP under Mac OSX 10.4 is quick and easy. The following instructions will take you step by step in setting up your account.
1. Open your Applications folder.
2. Click on Internet Connect.
3. Click on the VPN icon. A small option window will open.
4. Select the L2TP over IPsec option and click Continue. The small option window will close.
5. Select Edit configurations in the Configurations drop down menu.
6. When the large option window opens, type in the following:
6a. Description: (VPNUK)
6b. Server Address: Your VPNUK IP
6c. Account Name: VPNUK Username
7. Select the Password option for User Authentication.
8. Select the Shared Secret: option for Machine Authentication.
8a. Enter: 69000903 into the Shared Secret input
9. Click OK and then Connect. A small window will open.
10.Type your password in the 'Please enter your password' field and click OK.
11. Click Connect

Setting up your VPN under Mac OSX (Older Versions)
Setting up vpn access over L2TP under Mac OSX is quick and easy. The following instructions will take you step by step in setting up your account. Setup Instructions may differ slightly depending on your OSX version.
1. Go to 'Applications' and double click onto the 'Internet Connect' icon.
2. Click onto 'File' and select 'New VPN Connection Window'.
3. Select 'L2TP over IPsec', and click 'Continue'.
4. Click onto the 'Other' dropdpown and select 'Edit Configurations'.
5. In the VPN Configuration window enter the information sent to you in the welcome email;
5a. In the 'Description' field, type a description, something like: 'VPNUK L2TP'.
5b. In the 'Server Address' field enter the IP or DNS address of your VPNUK server.
5c. The 'Account Name' is your VPNUK username.
5d. The 'Password' is the VPNUK password.
5e. Enter the Shared Secret: '69000903'.
10. Click onto the 'OK' button.
11. Finished! Double click onto 'Internet Connect' from the menu, click on 'VPNUK L2TP', then click the 'Connect' button.
