Setting up your VPN access on Windows Vista.

VPNUK recommends connections over OpenVPN when using Windows Vista.
Using the version of OpenVPN listed on our website does not require the OpenVPN config files. We have created a pre-configured version of OpenVPN with the config files already built into the application. If you are using a previously installed or more recent version of OpenVPN you will need to copy the VPNUK OpenVPN config Files to the OpenVPN config folder on your PC, you can download the VPNUK config files for use with OpenVPN from HERE. You can download other versions of OpenVPN from HERE.

VPNUK Connection Assistant Software
We have developed our own preconfigured, self updating Connection Software for all 32 and 64 bit Windows versions for connections over PPTP and L2TP/IPSec. Our software is very small in size and takes just a few clicks to setup and configure. In order to setup the software just enter your login details and choose your server from the available list.

Manual PPTP Setup
We recommend you use PPTP if you do not wish to install OpenVPN or have any stability issues on L2TP.

Manual L2TP Setup
L2TP with IPsec Security is quite often the fastest type of connection on the VPNUK servers.

Note: If you are unsure of which type of VPN connection to setup on your computer or device we recommend you try each of the available connections. Individual systems will treat each type of connection differently, where one computer will prefer a connection over L2TP another may well prefer the connection to be used over PPTP. One type of connection will nearly always perform better than the other(s), its best to try them all so you are absoloutely sure you are getting the best out of our servers.
