Setting up your VPN access on Windows Vista.

VPNUK recommends connections over OpenVPN when using Windows Vista.
Using the version of OpenVPN listed on our website does not require the OpenVPN config files. We have created a pre-cpnfigured version of OpenVPN with the config files already built into the VPNUK/OpenVPN application. If you are using a previously installed or more recent version of OpenVPN you will need to copy the VPNUK OpenVPN config Files to the OpenVPN config folder on your PC, you can download the VPNUK config files for use with OpenVPN from HERE. You can download other versions of OpenVPN from HERE.

. Our software installs in a matter of seconds and provides you with all the pre-configured settings you need to get up and running instantly. Simply install our connection assistant software, enter your username and password, enter the VPNUK Server to tunnel your internet connection through and click connect. Our connection Software is compatible with all WIN32 and x64 versions of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

We recommend you use this type of connection if you have any problems with L2TP.

L2TP Setup
L2TP with IPsec Security is another possible type of connection on the VPNUK servers.

Note: If you are unsure of which type of VPN connection to setup on your computer or device we recommend you try each of the available connections. Individual systems will treat each type of connection differently, where one computer will prefer a connection over L2TP another may well prefer the connection to be used over PPTP. One type of connection will nearly always perform better than the other(s), its best to try them all so you are absoloutely sure you are getting the best out of our servers.
