Setting up your access using the VPNUK Connection Manager under Windows XP.

The following instruction is for the VPNUK Connection Manager on Windows XP.

1. Download the Connection Manager
Click onto the following link to download the latest version of our Connection Manager.
Download the VPNUK Connection Assistant software from here

1: Extract or drag the VPNUK setup file to the desktop and double click it to open it.

2. Connecting to the Server
The recommended server setting for VPNUK servers is L2TP, select L2TP/IPSEC from the dropdown and click 'Connect'.

3. In the 'User Name' box, enter your vpnuk username. In the 'Password' box, enter the password. Optionally, click 'Save Password' to save your password as part of the connection. Then click 'Properties'

4. Next enter your VPNUK server details and then click the 'Networking' tab.

5. Uncheck the 'Include Windows logon domain' and click the 'Networking' tab.

6. Ensure the 'Type of VPN' is set to 'L2TP IPsec VPN'.

14 .Click the 'Security' tab.

15. Ensure the Security options are set to Typical (recommended settings). Place a tick in the 'Require data encryption' box then click the 'IPsec Setttings...' button.

16. In the next window, click the checkbox and type '69000903' as the key and click 'OK'.

17. Click OK.That's it.

Connecting to the VPN
18. Go to your desktop and 'double click' on the VPNUK connection shortcut.
