When to Use Each Tool
Use the Speed Test when…
Your VPN feels slower than normal. Compare speeds before and after connecting, or try different servers and protocols (WireGuard is fastest). If your base connection is slow, the VPN will be too — this helps identify where the bottleneck is.
Use Server Status when…
You can't connect to your usual server, or you're seeing intermittent disconnections. Check if there's a known outage before contacting support — if a server is down, simply switch to an alternative from your Members Area.
Use Reverse DNS Lookup when…
You want to verify your VPN connection is active, check what IP you appear as to external services, or investigate the rDNS/PTR record of any IP address. Useful for debugging email delivery, IPTV access or banking issues.
Use the DNS Leak Test when…
You want to confirm your VPN is truly protecting your privacy — not just encrypting traffic but also keeping your DNS queries hidden from your ISP. Run it before and after connecting to VPNUK to see the difference.
