Download VPNUK AppStep 1 — Download OpenVPN for Windows 8
Download OpenVPN v2.5.x — fully compatible with Windows 8 and 8.1. Go to openvpn.net/community-downloads and download the Windows installer for version 2.5.

Run the installer as Administrator. Accept all defaults and allow the TAP Windows Adapter to install when prompted — this is required for OpenVPN to work. After installation the OpenVPN GUI icon will appear in your system tray.
Step 3 — Generate your config file
Log in to the Members Area and use the OpenVPN Config Generator to create a .ovpn config file for your server.
- Protocol: UDP (recommended) or TCP
- Port: 1194 (UDP) or 443 (TCP)
- Select your server from the Client CP
Step 4 — Import and connect
Right-click the OpenVPN GUI icon in the system tray and select Import file…. Browse to your downloaded .ovpn file and click Open. Then right-click the icon again and select Connect. Enter your VPN username and password from the Members Area under VPNUK Account Details.
Once connected, the system tray icon turns green. Your internet traffic is now encrypted through VPNUK.
